A B O U T _ O S A M U _ T E Z U K A

Osamu Tezuka was, and still is, considered the Father of Anime and Manga. Before his death, he had drawn over ten-thousand pages of manga and created over seven-hundred titles, some being "Phoenix", his life's work, "Princess Knight", the first shoujo manga, "Black Jack", a unique medical drama and fan favorite, "Adolf", an intense WWII historical fiction, and "Astro Boy", his most famous work and the first ever televised anime in Japanese history.

Prevalent in all of his works are powerful messages that relate to many deep moral, social, philosphical, and environmental matters, as well as zany humor and visual gags to juxtapose the otherwise serious nature of many of his creations.

I have created this club to bring recognition to this amazing man and all the stories he left the world. It was his dream that one day this world may be filled with hope of a better future for man and the Earth. This is a dream that must be kept alive and shared with not only anime and manga fans, but the entire world.

~mistress-samwise is the current president. Her favorite Tezuka manga is "Black Jack". On her account, one can find many pictures sporting its lovely main character. But she does, however, bear a hateful grudge against Viz for not finishing it's translation job on "Black Jack". Her other Tezuka favorites include "Phoenix", "Buddha", and "Adolf".

She also owns a totally biznatching Black Jack fanlisting/ shrine called Anathema.



~sonikkukitten is also admin, whom loves "Kimba the White Lion". She wishes with all her animation loving heart to go to the Tezuka museum. She'll also someday own every released Tezuka film or TV to DVD set. Until then she remains poor and relying on her 99cent "Kimba" DVDs and 2003 Astro Boy collection.
